89 560sel transmission problem
Hoping for some good news. I was backing up a long hill then went to go forward and automatic transmission making terible whining noise then it clunked. Now no reverse. Any hope or did my transmission just kick the bucket.

Sorry but it sound like an internal transmission problem. Removing the pan will confirm it

Transmission is cooked.
Pulled the pan sure enough lots of unwanted metal in the pan. Oh well guess its time to find a transmission and install it.

IMHO, the best rebuilds out there are TBR's, I've been to his shop and it is so frightfully clean it more closely resembles an operating room instead of a tranny reman shop. They are located in Atlanta, GA. They can be a bit picky about who they sell too, if you have any trouble let me know and I'll be glad to help out!
Just as an FYI, he does cost more then a company like Adsit, but Everything in his boxes is new.. It's more like getting a New trans instead of a rebuild one.. You may want to consider have FGS set up in the valve body as well. Jonathan
