Merc Oil Filter Tool..
 

Hi Guys

I bought the oil filter tool for my 97 230 Kompressor from the agents out here. I have however noted that the tool does not fit snugly onto the oil-filter-cap. It has a bit of free-play probably of about a few degrees. Is this correct or have I been sold the wrong tool. The Merc part number is 103 589 02 09 00 and is stamped on the tool.

Thanks in advance for your comments. The tool does work but I would rather not damage the cap and incur other problems.

Perhaps shimming the tool with a shop rag or paper towel would give it better bite.... just a thought.

That's the same part No on the one I have which works fine on my E220, similar M111 engine to yours.
