Part No. for gasket at bottom of windshield?

Hello

I'm trying to find a replacement for the gasket that runs across the bottom of the outside of the windshield. 1993 300TE. The gasket appears to be one continuous piece, passing under the wiper. My mechanic has been trying to order it from Mercedes, but they don't seem to find one. The parts house shows (and sent) a two-piece replacement, but the mechanic said it was wrong and sent it back. Now they are asking for a picture of the gasket and I thought I'd try here first, since there's a wealth of experience on the forum.

Does anyone know the part number or even the proper name for it?

Any help appreciated - my pride and joy is sidelined in the garage . . .

Thanks in advance - Robert

Unfortunatley I don't have a part number and I can't go pull mine off as my car is in the driveway and it's raining, but I do know that on my 1993 300E2.8, the gasket is a single piece of rubber that's attached around the base of the wiper with a metal clip.

According to the procedure I have in front of me from the factory manuals (83-140) the three piece gasket was used up until March 1993, my car rolled off the production line in June 1993, so mine's one piece.

Check the date of manufacture of your car, and if you can find that procedure take a look at it, it doesn't show part numbers either, but might help you track down the part you need.

OK. I see now why the parts house sent the two piece replacement. I'll pass this along to my mechanic.

Thanks for your help - Robert
