Question how many miles on a C280 - need opinions

I have a 96 C 280 with 125K. Have changed the oil every 3.5 K and done all the regular maintenance. We have owned it since 50K. My question is....

With normal maintenance how many miles can i expect to get?

I am trying to decide when it will become too much to repair. i have already done a lot of bullsh** repairs to this car and am wondering at what point I should say enough. ANy thoughts would be appreciated - thanks in advance.

The question when to " dump " a vehicle has been around since the " horse & buggy " days.
Only you can decide the right time.
I can't see why your vehicle should not last a long time yet.
The problem is, a lot of us simply become tired of a vehicle we have owned for years, and sometimes look for justification to ditch it.
Somebody else will probably have a different viewpoint.

97 C280,almost 180K miles. Never spit into the wind or pull on superman's cape, or let a MB dealer touch your car. It should last at least 250K miles before you need to think repair or replace.

How long is a piece of string? No one knows.

The M104 engine is tough as nails as long as the head gasket is intact, and I've NEVER heard of a bottom end breaking unless the engine was really abused. Top ends last at least 200K-miles, maybe farther.

The tranny will probably give out before the engine, but most 722.3 and 722.4 units seem to last at least 200K-miles. Again, service history plays an important role.

Keep in mind that a 1996 car with 125K-miles is worth LOTS less than you paid for the car. Depreciation is probably your biggest expense so far. Don't sell it at this point, or you'll be getting the short end of the stick. Some smart cookie will buy the car for next to nothing and then drive it for the next 100K-miles, laughing all the way. I know. I did this with several 190E's.
