Rear axle rubber bushings - how to?

Hello Friends,

I have a 500 SEL from 1984 and its a bit "sloppy" and unprecise on the road. It wanders a bit and its worse when going over bumps etc. I changed the springs and the shocks a little while ago and that improved the situation. I also inspected the joints in the front and there is no play (except in the steering gear itself which is a PITA to reach to and adjust).

Therefore I think it might be the rubber bushings that is getting old and worn. Have anyone on the list changed the rear axle rubber bushings and can tell me how tough of a job that is?

Also if You got other ideas on things that I should look out for a really appreciate Your input.

Best regards,

Mikael Westerbrg
