auxilary cooling fan
I recently purchased a 1985 300SD that has a 49 state body and a California engine and transmission. I just went through the car and had a number of things repaired and/or replaced. The shop that did the work can't find a schematic for the auxilary cooling fan relay. They have all the manuals, but still can't find the location of the relay. They think it may be located on the driver's side of the firewall, and before I pay them to 'hunt' for it I thought I might give this posting a try. I would like to know if there was a factory schematic revision for that year that dosen't show up in the manual. The car runs a little cool anyway-so I'm not overly concerned at this point. But, I would like to resolve the issue as I really love the car and want to restore it to showroom condition.

The aux cooling fan comes on with high pressure on the high side of the a/c system. Is your a/c compressor on when you are doing this test? What is the high side pressure?
When you say it runs a little cool - how cool. You do NOT want it running below 80dC. This is not good for the engine. Oh yea - welcome aboard
