Thule on Benz Opinions

could you guys give me your opinion on using a thule on the benz? my last car was a volvo (gutters) and the 190-E has different feet, which i'll get, but wow, does it look tight where those feet go between the door and roof. and, will the feet damage that rubber between the door and roof? i gotta get the kayak out and wet.
thanks.

I have the thule system for my 1993 300E. It has worked out very well in the past 3 years. Although, the system is not as nice as what I had for my old Saab, since it had rain gutters, and thus had more of a stable connection. The key of course is getting the right feet and rubber boots for your make and model.....

I have the Mercedes-Benz "brand" roof rack for the C230. It was just a few dollars more than a Thule, and the bars are a very precise fit. Fit and finish seem higher too.

I have the thules for my 1990 300E ...they fit great...its key that you take your time and align them correctly also if you look in the door jams there are >'s that show you were to place them. If I'm not mistaken Thule manufacters the Mercedes racks. I use to manage a retail store that sold Thule, I can tell you that their quality is second to none... Good luck ..
