Inside the 300TD the trim, fabric material, that covers the rubber section around the door is separating from the rubber underneath it. This trim piece is like piping, real big piping. It is just inside from the door rubber weather stripping. The part I'm talking about goes fron the front lower corner of the door sill, to the top rear corner of the door opening. Was the fabric glued or did you just rap it around the rubber and it was pinched into position when the rubber strip was installed. can you buy this fabric from anyone? or do I have to buy the rubber/fabric unit from Mercedes?
Second The cover over the B pilar that covers the shoulder harness belt has piping on the front and rear edges. This piping is coming apart and needs to be replaced. Can you buy this at a auto upholstery shop or do you have to buy the whole B pilar cover from Mercedes? Third Replacing the arm rest cover? How hard is this job. Mine is cracked, MB tex. and needs replacing. I have reviewed the section in the Service Manual. What recommendations do you have, techniques? Best way to sew the opening up? Forth Who do you recommend for carpets? I am looking at replacing the entire set. Additionally how do you recarpet the wheel cover in the wagon? Dave
