Electric Fan versus Clutch Fan S500 W140

Would be interested in hearing from anyone who may have replaced their original fan/clutch with an electric unit on an S500/W140.
Please respond with any benefits, problems, etc.
Looks like a good way to vary the "on" temperature for the main fan without resorting to modification of the original thermal clutch.
Would like better condenser/radiator airflow at idle in summer traffic = cooler A/C temps.
Anyone?
