Can you use a blower from SEL for an S500
 

88 Mercedes Benz 420SEL Blower Motor on a s500 possible.. By the pictures they look similar..

The part numbers are different and the prices are way different so my guess is no.

No way. They look alike because there are really only two different design configurations whether it be MB or Ford. They are dual squirel cages or single. The 126 and 140 cars have totally different single cage motors.

I just don't think its fair for mercedes to overcharge on their parts like this.

I'm real surprised that fastlane doesn't show the blower. They do show the regulator which comes with the blower for 272. I'd be glad to sell you the whole motor with regulator for 410. The vendor is Behr.

The thing is that nothing is wrong with my blower/regulator. Actually the only thing wrong with it is the bearing.. I need an original bearing for the part which I doubt they sell separate.

Thanks for the offer though but anything over 225 is over my budget.

The plain Bosch motor is also available but I have never used it.

Since FastLane doesn't list it, I don't mind saying that www.adsitco.com has W140 blower motors for $200.

I would be happy to sell the Bosch motor for a lot less than 200, but I decided a long time ago that it wasn't worth my time to get involved with the warrantee hassle. I have never changed just the motor on the 140, but from doing all the rest I can tell you it is a 50-50 chance you will screw up the first one. I did, course nobody told me I would.

At the rate they are getting I'd do it in my shop for that. I pay 94 for just the motor and 330 for the whole assy. They are obviously covering their behind on the motor w/o cage.
