For a while I've noticed oil seeping from the front passenger side of my '88 300e and I think I'm ready to try to fix it. At first I thought it was a headgasket leak but after using the SEARCH function I believe it is the U gasket or "front cover" leaking (looks just like the picture in haasman's post).

After using the search, I didn't find a clear explanation of how to replace this gasket although there is a lot of information about which sealant to use. If somebody would please post step by step instructions on how to replace the u gasket I would appreciate it.
