It appears that to replace the cooling hose
that is located on the engine head next to the oil filter housing is routed to the firewall. And to replace it will take removing the wiper arms and the air screen to access the nuts in removing the bolts on the ABS cmputer housing which will allow then access to the two hoses that must be removed. Whew! My MB manual says to refer to task 83-0140 for air screen removal, HAH! on me. The manual goes from tasks 82-xxx to 88-xxx! S-o-o-o HOW does one go about replacing the hose?? The hose is cracked and the fabric is exposed and do not trust it for long distance driving. After researching this website I feel confident that this is the place to ask for help! thanks bunch folks for your help. LH

All you have to take out is the computer I think. It has been a while, but I think if you take out the ABS computer, the hose clamp you need to get to is under it.

That is correct. Only minor hitch is that the computer bracket is in the way of the hose that goes into the firewall. I can see it but cannot get access to remove nor leverage to install. The little 6-8 mm hose is not a problem. So-o-o that leaves me with removing the wiper arms and the air screen to get to the nuts of the mounting bracket. Sure appreciate the reply was getting worried! Look forward to your suggestions, thanks again Leon.
