Just bought this car love it. A truley fine auto. Trying to work out a few problems due to neglect of previous owner: 1) High beans don't work....suspect a fuse or something since both are out 2) Passenger seat control dosen't work, maint. records says driver seat diaode was replaced once, suspect that's the problem but were is the diaode located? 3) Finally, sometimes, when the engine starts it misses on one cylinder for just a few seconds, suspect a fuel injector, are they hard to replace? Just a few bugs in this fine car. Can anyone tell me where to get a manual so I can do the minor stuff?

Manuals are no longer being printed. However, they are working on the CDROM version due out soon (they said). Costs about $100. 800.367.6372

Replace all the fuses in the box first. I have seen both High Beams out at the same time.. and the seat adjustment on the passenger side, I don't that it goes through the diode. The diode faulty symptom is the seats don't operate with the door open. Injection nozzles are easy to replace but I do all of them at the same time.

Thanks NIck. Do you know why they stopped printing the manuals? Kind of miss the 'ol Chilton style manuals than CDs?

I was wondering how much the 420SEL cost you and how many miled did it have when you bought it. I am looking to buy a W126 soon and was wondering what prices are like.

Thanks

Depends on the year, mileage, condition, and the region of the world.

In the US, for a 1990 420 SEL, with 100,000 miles, in good condition, I would estimate around $12,000 to $$15,0000.

A lot depends on the above criteria.

'90 300 SEL
'84 300 SD (sold it)
