I can't seen to find the light source for the gearshift indicator on my '82 300sd. I have been chasing a freon leak under the dash, and have had the insturment cluster, and the climate control unit out of the dash, but was unable to locate the bulb. Also, I did notice that the 'upper' rocker switches on the console have light pipes. Do they use the same bulb? ..thanks...mike

Yes they do use the same bulb. It is behind the center console wood. You should be able to get to it through the radio hole/
