Is rebuilding one of these a kitchen-table style DIY job? Mine is leaking, very slightly for now.

Thanks.

The brass water valves are a relatively easy item to reseal. It would be nice if the seals were still available as they have a special cross section. The numbers are 000 835 12 98 and 000 835 48 98. Two of each are needed.

The main problem I have seen from people doing this job is that they get the valve piston back in the wrong orientation. It can be put back in 4 similar positions only one is right. The other will make heat when it should cool or not work at all or work all the time. Mark the square shaft where the lever comes off with relationship to the body of the valve.

Thanks. If I can find a rebuild kit I'll remember this advice.

Ya me too.
I did anticipate the problem with correct alignment but still got it wrong.
Any advice to figuring it out?
