Benzmac,
Is it difficult to replace the Oxygen sensor "cord"? The engine check light came on two days ago, so we took it to a loacl MB shop, they said the O2 cord needed to be replaced, does this sound right? Is the cord detachable from the sensor, if so what special tools do I need to DIY? I'm in to doing my own repairs, but there are no manuals for this car. I called MB and they said they don't have the CD yet and no manuals are available, this doesn't sound right but then again this is our first MB. They quoted $190 including labor. ------------------ 96 C280 [This message has been edited by roas (edited 04-05-2000).] |

The cord is not replaceable, if they are talking about the one that is attatched directly to the sensor...You have to install a new sensor. There is a lead that goes fromt that connector to the control unit. It has failed before, but it is rare.
