Please help me identify this mystery part..
Hey guys,
Can someone please tell me what this part is? The part in question resides on the front of the motor for a 1995 S420. One the very front of the engine there are two plastic covers (one on each side) that cover the ignition caps. After removing the plastic covers I noticed oil leaks near the electrical connections on both sides. My questions is, what electrical part is it that has the connection?? I "though" it was a camshaft position sensor but that wasnt right. Anyhow, I suspect the oil is leaking from around whatever this is but I cant find it on alldata until I can identify it. Any ideas? Thanks for the help guys! |
Those are the camshaft adjuster solenoids.

The gasketators. Actually, maybe not gaskets, I think they just use sealant on 'em.

Thanks!
I thought they might have been camshaft sensors so camshaft adjustors wasn't far off. Anyhow, they are leaking. Now, I can sound a bit more intelligent when I describe to Mercedes which part is hemorraging (sp?) oil :) As always, you guys have been a huge help!
Thanks again, Brian |
