I didn't realize you were on this forum.

I have to agree with your comments. My favorite was the intro of the C4. Fuel pump relays failed across the board. A customer asked: "Why does it take four relays (at Porsche's expense) before something is changed?"

Steve, I'll take your word on the Porsche, it has always been my dream car, perhaps one day I will be able to afford one and restore it just like I did my 190.

And air box peices all over the engine bay? 6 blade 2.7 S cooling fans? Chain savers? I miss the old air cooled 911 days, great cars.

Just got ahold of my first 100k 220 car today, the thing has held up well overall and has not been to horible to keep alive.

I"ve had good long term ownership experiences with American, Japanese, Italian, and German manuf. vehicles....I attribute this to relatively light duty and by-the-book maintence

...in time though- - physics takes over & they just get used beyond their serviceable life
