I have found a 1994 E500 w/80,000 mi with the following.

-ASR defeat switch
-upgraded transmission valve body for 1 gear start
-New High performance exhaust
-totally detailed exterior/interior
-K & N high performance intake assy
-Complete engine service
-Upgraded stereo w/2 Alpine amps and new speakers and 10 disc CD changer

This seems to be truly a gem in excellent shape. What is a fair price? KBB says $44,500(in stock condition).

That price would be reasonable if the car has never been hit/painted/etc. If the performance parts can be returned to stock (when it is sale time for you) that would be a big plus. Since it already has the mods that may save you significant cash doing them yourself but on the open market stuff like that usually deducts value. That is not to say it may not be right down your alley.

PS To keep the correct rolling radius the tires should be 245/45/17 as 235/45/17 is too short.

Just curious...what is a "K&N High Performance Intake Assembly"?? As I understood, K&N only makes filters for cars, and does only minimal other intake stuff on bikes.

As to the price, doesn't sound too outrageous but I'd echoe Lee's concerns. Does the owner have all of the original parts??

If all the parts come with the car, and the car's not been abused all of its life, should be a square deal (although I'd not offer over $40k...beat the guy up a bit)

The price is close to fair, but there are a few in my local paper (San Francisco Chronical)for less with less mileage. If you like it, you should buy it. They are great cars!

If you do buy it, tell us who made the performance chip, and ASR defeat and what they are like!

Go to www.precisionauto.com they sell the upgraded K&N air box the ASR defeat and I believe the chip upgrade. Note, the website is deficient, so order the free color catalog.
