Need advice on removing wiper. 96 SL500

I'm going to have to replace the bracket for my AC/defroster fan, and to get to it I have to take apart the top of my heater box. To get to this I need to take my windshield wiper off, sigh. Short of finding schematics does anyone have any advice or instructions on how to do this? I would rather know pitfalls before I start this.
