Do transmission cooling line fittings have o-rings????
Do the fittings on the rubber cooling lines have o-rings?? Mine are leaking, and I just wanted to be prepared when I lay down under the car.. I don't think the rubber lines themselves are leaking, but I may be wrong..

I put new lines on both my 126's and don't remember any O rings, but I also don't remember how to spell with great regulairty.........

They have machined fittings - no o-rings.

Thanks Guys..
Further examination shows that the hoses are leaking where they are crimped.. I plan to cut the crimps off with a dremel, replace the lines with new, and use hose clamps on the existing metal fittings.. Thus eliminating the crimp area.. Of course, if I had a way to re-crimp, that would probably eliminate the leakage.. The hoses look to be in fine shape.. Probably have had a little shrinkage since new... |
New hoses are pretty cheap, especially in the aftermarket. Considering the consequences of a failure I'd think purchasing replacements every few years is well worth it.
