Engine changes for different years
 

Hello everyone,


Does anyone know what the changes in engines are for a 190e, between 84-92? I have an 88, and I have been looking around at engines. I see some which are from 85, 86, etc. I have read somewhere that all 190e 2.3 engines from 84-92 are interchangable. But I have also heard there are differences such as the timing sensor? I also noticed on an 86 the engine distributer had a round saucer-like object sticking off the side of it, which mine does not.

So I guess my question is does anyone know anything about these differences and the possibility of interchangability.
