Intake manifold repair M116 - illustrated

		This is on a 116.960 1981 M116 3.8 litre V8 - in the wife's 1981 380SLC.
The job was prompted by an irregular idle and failed CA smog test resulting from intake air leaks. In the event, I also replaced the air flow sensor boot, fuel injector seals and holders, though the last two can be replaced without the need for this comprehensive teardown. A little longer than I had hoped at 162 images, but there's quite a bit of work involved. I earlier posted this in draft on the SL Forum for comments. Here is the final article. Enjoy! |
