Jim, exactly... that's why I want the HHT. It will cut 14 possibilities down to 4 or less. Check out my post here for more info.

I've never had DTC#3 appear. I have had #6 appear frequently, but it shows up without the problem occuring (light on, limp home mode activated). Only #2 would appear when problem occured.

I did see that... but again, I did not have the same codes appearing as you did. :(

I agree! I did change S9/1 (stop lamp switch) but that did not cure the problem. Just two days ago I changed S16/3 (starter lockout/backup lamp switch) but I haven't put enough miles on the car to see if it's cured. Unfortuntely (or fortunately, depnding on your POV!) the problem only happens at WOT, and maybe 1 out of a dozen WOT runs.

OK - this confuses me. How could the (Trisco?) Palm Scanner pick up a code that the AST Retriever did not? I thought the mega-buck AST unit would read absolutely everything the Palm could, plus much more??

The AST Retriever is a gem . . esp w/ the Live Data feature.

But my Palm did give DTC#6 when reading the "EA/CC/ISC" module so that's the first time I had seen that readout.

When you get yours, it will read the 'sub-codes' ok.

Jim, if the Palm will read 'sub-codes', that is GREAT news. Does it show the 3-digit number like in my screen shot of the WIS, or does it just show the text description of the 3-digit code...?

:)

Compare the codes in Menu#9 with what you posted in #86.

I believe you'll find that the codes read in the Palm Scanner will be what you call "sub-codes". Certainly not in the same order but good enough to help you diagnose.

BTW, somebody sent me a email recently and he purchased a used HHT for about $1500. If you look around, you may find one but personally, that's too pricey for me.
