Wiring diagram W124

Hi

I'm doing some truble shoting on my MB 230TE -90 ( the engine stopps when idleing). It seem that the engine controll unit doesen't get the right temperature signal on the inlet air.

I need help with getting a correct wiring diagram for this model. Those I have encountered so far does not correspond to this car. It has manuel transmision, no extra equipment and is sold in Germany. The VIN no. is: 124083 1F 148442 8

Best Regards,

chriso

Sorry that I forgot the model year, it is a 1990.

sign up on ALLDATA. They have wiring diagrams and everything else you could want. go to www.alldata.com

Alldata has no information on the M102 application in a W124 or any non US spec vehicles. Maybe two subscriptions; 1990 US 300TE and 1990 US 190E 2.3.

I think there is more relevant troubleshooting information in the archives of this forum.

It's a pitty that alldata.com dosen't have info on cars sold in europe, seems like a good site.

The most prommising info I found on this site pointed to a Russian site wich had wiring diagrams, but not for the 230 TE.

There is a lot of talk about CD:s containing repair manuals. Does anybody know if there is one for this engine as well? When I looked at ebay there seemed to be only CD:s for models sold in the US available. Where can one find information on cars with european specifications?

Glad if someone can give a hint,

Best Regards,

Chriso

Try to enact a Robinson-Patman act or something like that in Europe so manufacturers have to make available this information. Manufacturers don't want to do it in the US, they HAVE to do it by law. I don't know why the law hasn't caught up with MB for the R129, W140, W210, etc.

I am having the same type of problem with my 1990 Isuzu Trooper. Will not idle when cold but runs like a champ at higher RPMs hot or cold.

Thanks sixto for your coments on this issue.
Seems that I have to talk to the lokal MB shop again and try to make them find the right diagram this time. Hopefully a wiring diagram will solve my problem, othervise I will get back with the technical side of the problem.

To coment on youre problem ejsharp, I can just say that my MB is probably stoping since it's running rich, and I think it's because the engine controle unit gets a faulty signal from the inlet air sensor. Saying it's -25 degC instead of +20degC. The sensor is ok and so is the ground wire, but to wich pin does the signal wire go??? This is where the need for a wiring diagram comes in. I don't like the idea of cuting up the hole wiring harness to follow the wire. Somewhere it's probably getting in kontact with someting else and creating a faulty signal.
