I was under the impression that the M119 was really an M117 with an aluminum block and siliconized cylinder walls rather than a new design. If that is true, it has a production run (including the cast iron blocks) of more like 25 years or so, not bad.
Not like a Chevy 350 or Ford 302 though -- still in production after being introduced in 1955! Better engine, though..... Peter
