When starting the car the wipers take one swip across the windshield. I can also produce this phenomenon by adjusting the right side mirror. Thanks !!

This is an 1983 Benz.I do have a Chilton with a wiring diagram

Thanks for the additional information. I quickly looked at a ETM today but it was for a newer model than yours. (1986 ETM)The only think that I see that these circuits share is the ground point W1. You problem sounds very unusual and could be caused by a bad ground. W1 is located behind the Inst. Cluster. If this ground is good The next step to to check each of this circiuts completly. You will need a OEM ETM and a good multimeter for this.
Good Luck |
Thanks for your help, I will get on that this weekend!!

dab,
I had a similar problem with my daughter's 300D. The problem went away when I replaced the ignition switch. Good luck, ------------------ Larry Bible '84 Euro 240D, 516K miles '88 300E 5 Speed '81 300D Daughter's Car Over 800,000 miles in Mercedes automobiles |
