The steering on my 190e Seems quite "heavy", although not uncomfortably so. Also, When coming out of a turn, the wheels don't return to neutral position very quickly. I've had the alignment set recently at the MB dealer, so I think the caster is set correctly, but no change to the self-centering of the wheel. Is this just how mercedes steering is or do I have other problems. Thanks in advance.

Ted, you may have a problem with the power steering sector, but no problem at all. See if you can drive another and compare, or see a tech that has.

It sounds like the steering box has been over tightened.

I have also seen this condition after ball joint replacement when the joints are driven in by hammer the joint is stiff due to the collapsed housing.

Thanks for your suggestions, I'll check the steering box out. The ball joints aren't new, and probably could use repalcement. Thanks again.
