Car still won't start '87 300E

The car ran like a top but would not start next morning. Temperature is above 32F and fuel pump is operating.

At times I can get the car to run at an idle for about 15 seconds and then it stalls. Seems to fire ok when idleing ... with slight intermittant hesitation.

I checked out the fuel relay and it appears ok... no cracks... and fuel pump operates constantly when pins 7 and 8 are jumped. I jumped male pins 7 and 8 with thin copper wire and pluged relay in again. The pump ran constantly but engine still would not start.

What about the over voltage protection relay? Will that keep the car from starting?

What else might keep it from starting? What about throttle? Can that stick?

Any advise is most appriciated.
