Simple 190e door lock cylinder question
In the process of repairing a broken driver's door lock, I was also working on the passenger door lock.
The problem is the key will not lock or unlock the door. The inside lock plunger will lock and unlock the door. I withdrew the passenger side door lock cylinder and it does not have the final "nose" that does all the way into the latch mechanism. Is this normal or correct. In otherwords, should both the left front and right front door lock cylinders be exactly the same? BTW, I did successfully repaired the broken driver's door lock cylinder. Haasman |

This thread is ancient history, but I found it when recently having the same lock problem. For completeness and to answer the question, yes both sides should look the same. Photo attached (which I've also attached in a reply to a technical article on this site).

Found a junked 190E in a local "pick-and-pull" auto salvage yard.
Used my own hand tools to remove the lock assembly. Gladly paid $50. |
