My wife and I bought a 99 E320 yesterday and the climate control worked great...until last night. Since then, the climate control has been stuck in EC mode, which locks out the a/c compressor.

Does anyone have any hints or tips for clearing this? The obvious step of pushing the button again doesn't work. It's going to be 105+ again tomorrow, and we'd really like the a/c again! Thanks for your time, Charlie |

It does that as a self-protection feature, you can't just clear it out. Usually it means you're low on freon, so there may be a freon leak that needs to be repaired.

On a 99, there is also the possiblity that there is a problem with the freon (refrigerant) level monitoring system, the dealer should be aware of this potential and know how to fix it. Gilly |
