I have a 1978 300 SD W116.. Had A/C work done ... Car is ice cold.. My problem, Water is leaking into the car.. I had a new exp. valve put in.. I looked up postings on Exp. Valves.. posting read that the drain holes were cloged up.... And that the holes are located on both sides of the transmission.... Help !!! I can't locate the drain plugs..... |
Bill, I checked under the driver side dash .. ran the a/c for 20 min.. no sweating
noticed.... I think the drain plug is clogged,, I can't figure out where the plugs are located under the car...... |
The drains are located behind the tunnel carpeting. They are about 3/4" in diameter and a few inches long...They connect the box to the bottom of the tunnel. If the material has broken away, the box will leak inside the car.

I had a Honda once long ago, did the same thing. Turned out the drain tube became dislodged from the condenser box, and the water ran all over the passenger side floorboard. I would suspect a similar situation, either the drain hose was knocked off, of not reattached after the A/C work.
