Had the same problem with my 380se. Mechanic couldn't figure it out. It turned out to be the OVP fuse that protects the electrical system from over voltage problems. It's a big red fuse in the fuse box and will cost you 50 cents.

The condition can also be caused by a faulty Idle Speed Control Module.

Idle control value
Thanks for your replies I don’t see the fuse in the glove box can u be a little more pacific also Idle control value any one know how many volts is to be going to it? Also need two know color of the top wire. I can put six volts too the idle control switch and it works but does not work on the car

OVP
ok my fuse box is on the driverside under the hood. Look at it did not see where it had any markings for the ovp

I'm not home, so I'm doing this from memory. It's toward the back almost by itself. It's a red fuse (red clear plastic top) 25amps, I think. It pushes in like a plug, not like the ceramic ones toward the front of the box.
