HELP - ignition coil 560SEL
Can someone please tell me the easiest and best way to replace a ignition coil?
I have no spark and I did put new Beru wires and Distributor about 6 months ago. The coil seems to be designed to slip off the main groove. Is that a correct assumption or do I need to unscrew the two nuts on each side and remove the entire housing and then replace the coil? There seem to be two main leads on the top and two leads on the housing of the coil - where the coil is attached to the frame (lack of a better word). Please help? |
I got the new coil .... it seems like the leads and the main lead is on the opposite side to where the current one is. Looks like I need to take the entire assembly out! With such little room, it is going to be fun!
Will put it in tonight! K |
Done
The startig problem was the ignition coil!
Whew. Back in the hunt. During this process though, I lost the ring that hold the hydraulic fluid bottle in place. Thoughts on that? Can I use a simple tie to keep it in place? K |
McL.aren,
I did get your email, but was out of town for a few days, and didn't get to email till yesterday. I see you've resolved the coil issue. Sorry I couldn't assist in time. When you say you've lost the ring for the hyd bottle, are you meaning the retention spring? If so, I would think a zip tie would hold sufficiently until you could find a replacement spring. |
