Slk Hard Top Help

I HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MY TOP NOT GOING DOWN OR UP. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT AND HAS PASSED ALL DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. ALL SWITCHES WORK AND DONT KNOW WHAT IT CAN BE. IT IS A 99 SLK 230. I HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE SWITCH BACK AND FORTH UNTIL IT EITHER CLOSES OR OPENS. NEED SOME ADVICE. THANKS
