Need an answer right away!!!
 

I was wondering if you can put a suspension leveling pump onto an engine from a car without a leveling pump. Donor car is a 79 300D, recipient car is a 79 300TD. Any listing that I can find on the engine shows them both having a 617.912 engine. What drives the hydraulic pump?? And can it be transferred over to the donor engine.

Need to know ASAP!!

Pump is attached to the cylinder head and is driven by the intermediate gear in the head. I believe their is a casting difference on the heads in this area. The hydraulic pump mounts to a machined surface and is secured with four bolts.

Worse case you swap cylinder heads.

Yeah, you would have to swap the heads as well. I just re-read your question and I got confused. Are you saying that the engine in the '79 300D has a leveling system and you want to use it's pump on the TD, which I presume has a bad hyd pump. I don't recall the sedan 300Ds having a leveling system.

Thank you guys a whole bunch for your help. I think that I'll wait until a 300TD engine is found. Don't really want to do that much work.
