Fuel gauge failed
It was jumping up and down when the tank was low. One day it just went to empty and the light does not go on.
Anyone know if it is most likely the gauge or the sender in the tank? |
I experienced the same problem. It turned out to me a $35 fuel sending unit. I am still puzzled at why my low fuel light does not come on, but when I turn the key(without starting the car) it lights up.

Where?
Is the sending unit inside the tank? Where is it?
|
In the 300E, it is located on the gas tank.
Get in the trunk Remove the carpet that covers the yank You will see a spot on top of the tank where wires are leading to That is the fuel sending unit It takes a big monkey wrench and 5 minutes to replage it. |
Great!
Thanks for the reply. I will be getting to it as soon as I can. I first have to replace the rack & pinion, timing belt, water pump and hoses on my wife's Honda Del Sol. One fun job after another...
