Has anyone installed a new VDO replacement cruise control amplifier in an 87 and had trouble with it working? On the service CD, it says something about bridging some contacts on the connector in these earlier cars for the replacement amp to work. No info sheet came with this new amp. (Bought from PartsShop). A few months ago, the dealer did a diagnostic test and said the amp was bad, all else was OK. Is it usual to have to make this alteration? What's the best way to do it?
thanks in advance for any experiences or help ------------------ Bob Johnston 87 300E |
Bob, did you get a coding plug with your new amp?? Does the amp have and extra plug in it?

No, I did not get a coding plug with the amp, and yes there is an extra place to plug a connector on the amp that was not there on the old amp. Do I need to order some sort of adapter?
