Diagnostic socket on 260e W124 1989
Could somebody please tell me if there is a diagnostic socket on the above model. If so where is it located and what is the pin configuration.

Its on your driver side fender wall. It has a screw on cap. I don't know the pin configuration but pin 3 seems to be very important if you do a search on the forum;)

Yes I found this socket. It is a 9 pin socket. As I have the CISCO Palm Scanner they only refer to 8 pin,16 pin and 39 pin sockets for diagnostics purposes Jim F has reviewed this on his web page and there is no mention of a 9 pin socket which I can plug the unit into. The management system I believe is Bosch CIS-E so could anybody clarify this situation. Please help as the scanner was quite expensive and now redundant at the moment
