95 S420 OBD I code reader compatibility?

I'm thinking of getting an OBD II code reader for a non-MB. I have the option to get a unit that has OBD I features as well. Is there anything about a 95 S420 that lends itself to generic OBD I code readers?

My S320 has been read by a generic OBDII reader many times. Don't need anything fancy.
