Dash lights & Bulbs

Hello there. I have a 1994 E420 MB and I am looking for an easy way to change the bulb on the shif selector, that tells you what gear you are in Park Etc. and also if there is an easy way or the best way to change the bulbs in the dash board for the fuel guage side, I have no idea how to get to these bulbs. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ben

To change the bulb that lights up the shifter selector, you need to remove the wood around it. First, open the rolltop box and remove the two screws at the front. Lift the box out and then remove the screw underneath it. Lift the wood trim up starting at the rear. Disconnect the switches. I think the bulb plugs right into the side of the black plastic box around the shift linkage, but you might have to remove some screws.

As far as the bulbs in the instrument cluster, you need to use the special "pulling hooks" to pull the cluster out. Once it's out, the bulbs pop right into the back.

Well I have gotten the shift selector bulb in, you were correct on what to remove, but the bulb is located in the back of the plastic case that surrounds the selector, the dash side of the selector, Just in case anyone else has this problem.
