Wink Rusty Exhaust Tips...

I was bored and needed a break from studying...

here's what resulted
I've been wanthing to do this for a while as the rusty tips look pretty bad..



yuck...
sandpaper, old newspaper, some duct tape, high temp flat black paint, and a while later...



DONE...

Very nice!

I'll have to do this next weekend. I can't stand the look of my rusty exhaust tips.

I did the same to my dad's old 230E (single pipe).. but I painted it a nice bright silver... i liked it back then... not anymore though hehe.. looked dumb.

Not too long after that the muffler fell off as it rusted out at the back...

Nice job! How come the original coating started to come off at the tips? It seems your muffler's coating is still intact...

I have no idea why.. maybe the water dripping off the pipes? Really no clue...
