Instructions for Steering box rebuild.

Does anyone have good instructions for a steering box rebuild for a 1989 560 SEL? Any tips, hints, etc. would also be welcomed. At this time I only have the engine book.

Respects,

Andy

Unless you have overhauled(re-sealed) other P/S boxes then that isn't a DIYer at all. Several special tools & peoples lives at stake.

I take it there is a spring under load inside? No Ma Deuce spring through the body for me.

Thanks for the reply.

On my '89 420 SEL, a seal popped and I ordered the seal kit. When I got it, I called Auto Sports Unlimited in Zeeland, MI, and asked for a clean, dry box. Cost $60 plus shipping. http://www.AutoSportsUnlimited.com/
I recommend them only because I've actually been there and seen the back of the counter. Not too many places have their own rebuilding setup. I was impressed with the transmission case oven. Thery sell other stuff rebuilt, also.
