Help!!! I have bare spots on my car!

I have bare metal on my car. I just noticed it. I need a repaint on the whole car, because of the little pits everywhere on the car in sporadic locations. I also have clearcoat peeling in some places.

What can I do for the bare metal right now? How much will it be? I need to do this before winter hits.

I think you answered your own question, "I need a repaint on the whole car...". Rust will start immediately on bare metal. Why are there bare spots? Too agressive on the rotary polisher?

Nope, just something I noticed. I was waxing (by hand) the car when I noticed.

I dont have $6000 to repaint the car. Any ideas?

You should be able to get a guailty paint job for a lot less than 6K . I was quoted 23 hundred from a very good paint shop in our area, they use top of the line materials and their work rivals MB factory paint. If the rest of the paint is good I would talk to a shop about touch up..........

The front of the hood is severely pitted (some jerkwad previous owner probably had a dumptruck for a hood ornament ). The roof's clearcoat is peeling (about 5-10% of it gone), and the doors have random pits (less than 10). The front fenders cought what the hood didnt.

Over all, the paint is in excellent shape. It is just that I worry about the rusting of my car. Anyone know where I can pick up bottles of touch-up paint for now?

Paint is available right here at the PartsShop, I would suspect. It would be good to support them. Or here. Or here.

Sounds like the PO liked automatic car washes.
