Water Pump M111 engine W210
Can anyone tell me the life span of the water pump of M111 engine W210 model. I've bought the water pump just in case, but unsure whether to replace it now or wait until it fails. I've covered 57,000miles. Comments please.

Do you have bad experiences with water pumps? I've seen more than a few M111 mills with over 200,000kms (125K-miles) and no water pump problems. Not a common problem on most MB engines.
Are you a former BMW owner?

I'm at 87.6K miles on my M111, and have no plans to even think about the water pump for the next 50K miles.

FWIW, we had the water pump replaced in the C230 at 107k miles. It was leaking a good amount of coolant.

Thanks guys.
I've bad experiences on my Honda Accord before. I'm new comer in Merc and love the car very much. I intend to keep the car as long as possible. It seem that I've to keep the newly bought water pump for quite sometimes. |

In australia i've seen plenty of m111 engined cars requiring water pumps. It seems to be the low milage cars that get the problem.
Easiest MB water pump to replace though......
