bought a 91 350sdl from an estate. 1432 Radio not working. The radio would display fm and am selections, and tape drive accepted and ejected tape, but no sound. antenna operates normally.

Some suggested pull amp box and have it checked. done that.

put it back in, worse than before I started. radio antenna goes up and down as before. It asked for the code, entered it and radio just lights up, no sound, no display but the lcd does light up.

Oh, when I pulled the radio, the prev owner cut the "telephone cut off" wires (at least that's what the tech told me) or something like that.

Wife is getting mad. (What, ANOTHER MERCEDES???) and she doesn't want to go back to driving Helga (84 300D 154K)!
