1992 300 Series

Hey,
This is my first post on this forum. I am looking at possibly purchasing a 92 300 Series for about 4k. I currently own a 76 Corvette that I blew an engine in about a month ago. I dumped about 3k into the engine only to have the exact same thing happen about 5 miles after I got it in there. So now I am just looking for a reliable but clean looking ride. By searching this forum I can tell that reliability has been beat like a dead horse, but I couldnt find any threads that specifically answered my questions. Am I looking at dumping alot of money in this to keep it running? If that is the case I will go get a Civic or something. Is 4k a good price for it? It is a 2.6 liter, 4 door, 140,000 miles, two tone gray and white. Body is in great condition. Any advice comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
Karl

Buy it, it sounds like an O.K. price. There are two things you should know: you will probably have to put money into it, not a ton, but some, and the other thing is that Mercedes-Benzes last a long time. They have good overall quality, and as long as you do reasonably good maintenance, the engine will not blow, ever. M-B's are good for 250k on the engine before a top end rebuild. They also hold their value. Make sure things work before you buy, or the things that don't work you can live with. Good luck!
