which brand of engine mount?
this weekend I am going to change the 2 engine mounts and the trans mount on my 87 300E. I can get MB engine mounts for $55.20 or $57 or Lingenfelter( spelled correctly??) for $46. "Lingenfelter" or something that sounds similar is apparently a standard German brand and is used by a local, reputable repair shop. Are the non MB parts better, the same or worse?
Thanks. |
"Lemfoerdor" re-packages other brands(most OE) of motor mounts. Lemfoerdor makes OE suspension parts! OE brands are Sachs/Boge OR Freudenburg(Corteco).
There are very low quality parts from the "far-east" & "lower-europe" that you should be wary of. |
clarify
Thank you very much for your time.
Let me get clear on this. These are low quality refers to Lemfoerdor-correct? Can we open the box and see who made the Lemfoerdor part or just buy Sachs/Boge or Freudenburg from a dealer? Thank you again. |
I think he mean to look out for cheap parts from the far east. That brand is OEM, though you should be able to get it even cheaper at "Fastlane", at the top of this page.

Lemfoerdor = OE quality.
They were much cheaper than what you posted for my 380SE when I bought from FastLane. |
follow up
New mounts are in-much improvement. The mounts were not completely flat. The 13mm measurement is not esy to do. I had a pro tech look at them before removing.
