S500 Oil Filter Cover
Read the oil and filter change article at this website and with that said, anybody have part numbers and sources for the correct Oil Filter Housing cover removal tool for a 2000 S500?
For the application in the article, a HAZET 2169 or Mercedes 103 589 00 09 00 is called out. But I don't know if those will be the correct numbers for mine. I checked out a couple of specialty tool websites and found lots of different sizes, etc.

Hi JR
The one you want would be the same for the spin-on filters like the M103 and 85 and newer M102 (the 102 when they got the spin-on filters), and the M104. There is a BMW filter tool that I find easier to use than the MB one, it's used for BMW "K bikes". It's a little nicer because it has the 3/8" square drive hole in the center, the MB tool doesn't, you have to use an socket to use it. But if you're already set up to do the M102/103/104, you are ready to go. Gilly |
