190e 2.3 Water pump Question: Does it take a gasket?

I need to replace the leaking water pump on the 190e .... does it take a gasket? A paper one or can I use a silicone product?

Thanks,

Haasman

Both, as I recall. The biggest thing is to map the location of the bolts as removed. They are a range of different lengths. Also get a gasket for the thermostat housing, since you will find it easiest to remove it too.
